Works as advertised.

Having had problems with previous units of a different brand not shutting down my PC when the power went out, I was very pleased that the software that comes with this unit works great and is easy to install. Just after I set it up, our power went out and the software went into action and kept the computer running as it shut it down. I was fed up with my former unit letting the PC go off without shutting down properly, which is very harmful to the PC and your valuable files. This unit did not let that happen.

Not only would I buy this again, I did.

I purchased my second 550VA for my laptop. The first was for my TV and cable receiver/DVR. My electricity flashes frequently causing my electronic equipment to go off for a split second. Since using the UPS units, the flashes do not affect any of my equipment.

Awesome UPS for the money!

Mounted this under my desk and the very next day the power went out while I was working on my PC. This little beauty kept my PC, KVM and 42 inch monitor up and running while I gracefully shut down. Talk about a timely purchase! I haven't set up the USB connection to automatically shutdown yet...but it ha this ability...and the cable you need for the connection. That will be my next project. I highly recommend this if you have a home office like me. It has already come in handy!
