Still relevant after thirty years…

Love this book. I read it 30 years ago and am revisiting it. Being codependent isn't as bad as the name sounds. If you have ever loved someone who is dependent on drugs/alcohol most likely you fit the description of codependent. Yes their dependence affects everyone around them. Good information, well written and still very relevant today.

If this book has ever been suggested to you, there's a 10/10 chance you need it, and if you have any interest in helping yourself at all, there's a 10/10 chance this book will help you. I was codependent through my sister's battle with alcoholism and have continued some of the same behaviors without intent to in various situations in my life. This book has been hugely influential in helping me understand and work on my struggles with codependency.

Great book

It was really good. Beattie ties a lot of things together. Codependency is a complex topic but after reading this book I felt like I had a strong understanding of it. I would read again and implement more of the suggestions she included. Great book!
