works great for my needs

This is the third oil filled heater for me.. They are safe to use and keep the rooms I have them in warm.. It hasn,t gotten cold here yet but just using one last year really helped.. This winter I,m using three of them throughout my place and I,m confident they will keep the use of my central electric furnace to a minimum..

Plug it in and forget about it!

Just plugged it in and after about 30 minutes I got the temp I was looking for then I forgot about it. Doesn't smell or dry the room out like most other heaters. Just a comfortable even heat. I use it to keep my guitar room in the basement in MN at 74 degrees no matter what the temp in the rest of the house is. Just need to keep it on the 600 watt setting and it doesn't work hard at all at that setting.

Great Space Heater So Far

I read all the reviews about the Optimus Electric Portable Oil-Filled Convection Radiator Heater and felt that despite the reported occasional lemon, this space heater was a good option for my home--especially considering the price. I decided that if I did in fact get a lemon, I'd just return it. So I bought two of these and have had no problems whatsoever so far. I use them in my kids' bedroom and my bedroom. It keeps the kids bedroom (approx. 12x10') nice and toasty with the door cracked an inch. Their room is typically very cold in the winter even with the heat on, so I am relieved that I no longer have to worry about them freezing all night long. My bedroom is bigger and the same space heater does a great job. I haven't used it to roast, per say, but simply to raise the temperature to a level where I don't mind getting out of bed on cold winter mornings. (We keep the house fairly cool to save money.) Our energy bills seem fairly low so far with these heaters--certainly less than if we were using our HVAC to heat our entire house to the temperature that we're using these puppies for. Considering the risk of a lemon, and knowing that I would just return one, I am pleased with the performance of this space heater and would even consider buying another one for our guest bedroom. Also, to address the reviews of poor castor wheels, they don't bother me in the slightest. The unit is small enough that I can easily pick it up to move it around, although I do roll it, too. I will admit that I'm never moving it more than five feet at a time, but for me the wheels haven't been an issue.
