Michelin Energy Saver

Maximizing fuel economy without giving up traction on dry and wet surfaces.

The Energy Saver is Michelin's Grand Touring Summer tire that is designed to marry vehicle operating efficiency with a lesser environmental impact by minimizing fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions. Molded into an asymmetric tread design with a low rolling resistance compound and with smooth-rolling tread ribs, the Energy Saver tire has expected handling, dependable stopping all while taking the environment into consideration. To reduce the chance of hydroplaning and increase wet traction, the circumferential grooves and lateral notches direct water through the tread design. The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped fabric on top of a polyester cord casing to combine strength, efficiency and comfort. The Energy Saver earned Michelin's Green X status by integrating computer-optimized design and precision manufacturing methods causing them to be recognized as among the most fuel-efficient tires available. (As with all summer tires, Energy Saver tires are not made to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.)
