Toyota's Better Idea

The machining on housing is nice, the threads have no sharp edges or burrs. Nice that it was supplied with different length tubes and "O" rings. The reason for (4) stars is that any multi-tool wrench will not fit over the tabs on housing. The housing diameter is too large. Have tried EWK (EB0015),(PBT 71110A)and Toyota filter wrench (W54118). Only the Toyota wrench fits the housing, but not over the tabs. The other two have a sloppy fit, (too loose). If you want a wrench to fit the tabs on the housing you could purchase the (ASR FTL01 wrench. All total have spent about $60 on filer wrenches. Might have been cheaper to just let the stealership change. Advice from a 70 year old Shade Tree Mechanic and retired Mechanical Engineer, I would use a silicone grease on the "O" rings because it will never dry out and will not be hard to remove when changing oil. Also if you torque the housing, never torque more than 25 ft.lbs. I do 15 ft. lbs. and have no trouble removing and have had no leaks.
