Odd wiring?

At the Micro-B end of the cable pins 4 & 5 (ID & GND) are shorted as expected for OTG, but at the Mini-B end of the cable pin 5 is not connected to anything. I can't find any reference to this type of pinout and expected pin 5 to be 0V / Gnd at both ends. A pinout drawing in the StarTech datasheet would really have helped before I bought these! :-(
