Definitely stands true to its claim...

So after trying the Velcro for a couple of different things I came to the realization that this product is in fact true to its claims. I first used it to secure my gas can in the bed of my truck after filling it up with gas. I also used it to hang a spider plant from a branch on a tree. I decided to test its strength and hung a package that weighed about 70 pounds and sure enough it held it up in place without it breaking. I couldn't find anything that weighed 200 pounds at the time to see if would hold up but I will in the near future. I even used it as a temporary restraint on my dogs collar to keep him in place while I gave him a bath and it worked just fine. For these reasons I give this product five stars.

Solidly made, quality hanging device

The Velcro Easy Hang arrives just as shown in the picture. The product is easily removed from packaging with the removal of 3 plastic ties. The latch hook is very solidly made and easy to operate. The retainer/opening in the hook is best explained in the picture below. It takes a bit of effort to depress the retainer portion as it seems to have some serious spring loading which makes it all the more solid when returned to normal position. I don't think anything would ever accidentally come loose from the hook. It is allowed to pivot a full 360 degrees if any adjustment of the hanging position is required. The rotating pivot is mounted to the eyelet for the strap such that only the hook is rotated... the strap remains as installed. Strap material is a very tough black material that looks like woven nylon with a nice even coating of Velcro on the backside. The strap is as advertised at 24" long with the hook assembly located very near center length. Strap is neatly folded to approximately 6" length as packaged. Assembly is rated for 200 pounds maximum and a warning label attached to the strap indicates if must be folded to just about its packaged length to hold that full weight. The strap is very strong and I was unable to pull it apart with only about 2.5" of the Velcro engaged. My intention is to use this strap to hang a large potted plant outside the house come spring. I have no doubt it will do well with that task.
