Fuel line interference

Apparently there are difference in location of the sending unit hole in tank and edge of tank. This sending unit did not fit correctly and I had to reshape the 3/8” fuel line to be able to install it and have the fuel line clear the front edge of the tank. Not sure how to guarantee someone orders the correct one, as this dimension was not in literature.
