I'm not a velvet fan, but I needed a case for my sunglasses and this looked like it would be roomy enough. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a little bigger than I needed. Takes up too much space in my small handbag, so I had to give it away. To be fair, the person I gave it to really liked it, so it's just a matter of preference. For me, I didn't love the look or size of it, but others may.
