It is a beautiful rug. It is quite thin and made out of a felt like material. I feel like the design will last a long time. It is a great design. It is very soft my cats like laying on it. You cannot vacuum it it is to thin. Must just sweep it with the broom. I have not put it in the washer yet. I do wonder how it will hold up. It does spot clean exceptionally well so may never put it in the washer. Worth the price of $20.
