I really like this Kolcraft Fitted Waterproof Crib & Toddler Mattress Pad. Although it is 100% polyester, the top side is knit and soft, slightly padded, and similar to cotton material. The bottom layer of the mattress pad is completely waterproof. I have used some waterproof single-layer mattress covers in the past that were so noisy every time the child moved, that it actually disturbed sleep. This one does not make that noise; it is quiet and keeps the child comfortable when he or she turns or moves on the bed. This pad can be put in the washing machine for cleaning, and you can tumble dry it on low heat in the drier. I find it very convenient for a child that drools, overflows diapers at night, or wets the bed. Since it is 100% waterproof, nothing gets through it, onto the mattress. This pad fits a typical crib-size mattress (52 x 28 inches) really well. It has a stretchy fitted “skirt” that pulls it into place without any wrinkles beneath the fitted sheet you put on over it. The “skirt” stretches enough to fit a variety of typical mattress thicknesses well – from 4 to 6 inches. The filling in the pad is hypoallergenic, and the quilted top appears to be sturdily stitched, with no loose threads. I would definitely recommend it.
