Works exactly as intended.....
The only hard part of using this, at least in my case, was accessing the old unit to take it off. I have a bedliner in my truck, and had to remove it so I could get to the old one to take it off. Removal of my old one was a bit tricky, because of the age of the old one. It had a bolt frozen onto the old unit that had to be removed so the old one could come off. Installation of the new one was a breeze. Just remember to tip the new one forward, and it will slide in easily. Also, after installing the 2 bolts, and before replacing the cover, check to insure that the unit works and is not hanging up inside. Total time for me, removal and install, was 30 minutes, including taking off the bedliner. You couldn't ask for anything easier. No problems, no hassles, just a working, locking tailgate.
