The parts are contained in 3 wood panels. It is very easy to see which parts are which thanks to the dark outline of each. There is a small square of sandpaper included to correct rough edges. As you might expect, the directions for assembly are pictures, much like products/toys that use building blocks. The final product is small, yet perfect for a desk, bookshelf, or other area where space is a commodity. Not wanting to delve into a huge project of this type, the reduced price made this a very attractive option. I would recommend for adults. The online description states that this is for 8 years and up, but the included instructions recommend 14 or adult supervision for younger children. I think this would make a great gift for a friend, coworker, or family member of a suitable age.

This is adorable, easy to work with but I wish there was some glue involved. There were quite a few times when I needed my wood glue to help keep some of the pieces secure. I really like the end result though and it was a fun distraction!
