My kittens use it and it looks good

My kittens use it naturally and the scratcher doesn't look ugly. It is a cool shape and they seem to like to use it. I got the "wood" colored one and it came with wood-like-looking paneling on the side. It isn't too heavy, but it is not flimsy either. Great item.

Cat Scratch pad

We have 3 cats and IF you wish them NOT to use your furniture as scratch post, better invest in sturdy items such as this. We use to de-claw previous cats due to destruction but have learned an alternate solution which also does not traumatize animals. Sprinkle cat surface with cat nip and train cats to play with some type of string toy on item. Animals get excited and learn to take their aggression or anxiety out on post/pad. We have leather couches through out house without any damage. Key is to spend time playing with cats in this method. In short time, they instinctively scratch item on their own. No more yelling or worrying. 6 cats trained this way and we are dog people!!!

Sturdy and well built

All of my cats like and use this scratcher, for both a bed and as a scratch pad. It is a dense cardboard and holds up better than a lot of others that I have tried. It is large enough to fit my 22 pound cat (the one in the picture). Overall it has been a very good purchase.
