The plastic applicator is thin plastic which is great %26 makes it comfortable, not uncomfortable! It's everything you'd think, and more.

It's exactly what you'd expect from a tampon, of course. But I especially love that they're so compact -- I can slip one or two in my front jeans pocket and go about my day without thinking about them. They also fit perfectly in clutches and very small crossbody bags (such that I own, at least). The applicator is very smooth and SO comfortable to use. If it's any testament to the comfort of these tampons, I was a pad user since I started menstruating. After 13 years of that lifestyle, I gave in and tried one of these tampons to see what the rage was about. Having never been successfully able to insert or wear a tampon without pain prior to this point, I was shocked to find that in less than a handful of tries I got the process nailed down and was now living my version of the good life. I became a tampon-only girl, donated all my old pads, and have only used Kotex in the 2 years since. Take my word for it, or don't -- these changed my life, and I'd recommend these for first time users and weathered veterans alike.
