The drain also does what it's supposed to do, as long as the plumber installs it properly

Same Leak Problem As Others......DIY Fix That Makes It 3 Stars

I bought this item 1 1/2 years ago and always had a leak problem. I tried many things -- plumber's putty included -- with poor results. Kohler does not provide useful help to solve this. I have recently found a solution that works. I inserted a 1.5" O.D. rubber O-ring between the button and the rubber seal. This forces the rubber seal to press harder against the drain. Now it does not leak at all. However, I do not know if the additional pressure could cause the Kohler seal to wear out. I cannot find Kohler replacement seals so use this fix with caution. You can back off on the plug thread if the O-ring makes it too tight. DRM
