Well built

Had this about a month. Had it out casting and fishing twice. It casts very well and winds nicely on the spool. Not as good as a slow oscillation but better than my other spinning reels. Have not caught a large fish yet so I don't know about the drag but I caught a couple 3 lb channel cat with ease. Got this on sale for $69.

West Coast Proven

I was looking for a powerful spinning reel suitable for throwing live baits and colt sniper jigs for small tuna, Yellowtail, and Dorado that had a Maual Pickup. (I.e no bail) Needless to say I found the appropriate reel. The last two years we have had the good fortune to catch an abundance of quality fish. I purchased another reel as a backup in the event Penn quit making this very affordable yet quality reel. Also, worked great on the surf rod in Baja this summer.

As a long time fisherman with a love of great fishing reels Penn is No.1. My first Penn was a 450SS in 1983. From then on it's been Penn all the way. From 430SS to 8500SS, now 4200SSVI , 4500SSv, 5500SSVI, 6500SSVI I have a reel for every type of fishing around. In shore,Near shore and Off shore I'm ready. Peen Rods also.
