Good motor, weak pump

This is a small engine that has an inefficient pump. However, there are some things that the future Customer should know. First of all, it is not a trash pump or a partial trash pump. It is a clean water pump. Secondly, can it be used to pick up dirty water from ponds, basement floors, and so forth? The answer is maybe, but the line filter has to be used or expect some damage to your pump. Whereupon it is used in this way, one needs to run, clean water through it afterwards. Thirdly, the manufacturer reports that the pump has a 1 inch inlet and outlet line but to convert a line to the inlet as well as the outlet, requires an inch and one-quarter tube or hose and a line-clamp has to be put on efficiently over the inlet and outlet. Fourthly, this is not self priming. You're going to need about a quart of water to prime it every time you're going to use it. It is easy to do and you simply unscrew the black cap on the Outlet portion of the pump and pour in about a quart of water and then screw the cap back on. Fifthly, the starting of the pump was fairly easy but take it easy on the pull string because God only knows how long it's gonna last. Sixthly, they want you to use 1:25 oil ratio to the gasoline. You must remember this is a two cycle pump. I have good Stihl oil which is 50 to one but it can be used for 1:28, according to the manufacturer. I used it and I had no problems but I also used the ethanol free gasoline with a reading over 92. Seventhly, they report that this pump can pull water 23 feet from the inlet but I was not able to test that declaration. I used a six foot line but no suction occurred; I have some questions about its capabilities. And, finally, on the tubing, try and get the tubing that comes with the pump so you don't have to figure out what is the best inlet and outlet tubing/hose for it. I found some places were trying to sell me tubing at $6.99 a foot which is absolutely ridiculous. Moreover, if you wanna pump like this for possibly clean water and semi trash water, watch the weight. Most of these trash pumps have to be carried and they don't have wheels so you're dealing with a lot of concentrated pressure on your back and spine when you move them. I find the pumps under 30 pounds are most conducive to responding to emergency flood or stream problems. I am returning this pump as having an engine that starts easily but unable to draw any water for extraction; a lot of my time has been wasted!
