[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This entertainment console comes in pieces that you have to put together. I've put many pieces of IKEA furniture together, so when I saw how few pieces were required to be assembled of this console, I was not daunted in the least.
Each piece has a locking mechanism as well as dowels that hold it all together securely. Not many tools were required aside from a screwdriver as a an Allen wrench and glue were included. (Don't worry, the glue doesn't hold any pieces together by itself, it just provides extra security for the dowels).
My wife and I made a night of it and put it together, and it was an easy and enjoyable task. All of the pieces were lettered and numbered, along with a step by step instruction booklet to ensure your risk of messing up were incredibly slim.
The furniture itself looks great, and looks like a piece I would have bought and had delivered from any furniture store. I love the modern esthetic, and I especially love the compartment and drawer that easily stores and hides all of my necessary media equipment.
I don't doubt that this will hold up well for years to come as it seems to be very durable and also very versatile. I would think even if your aesthetic isn't modern, you can jazz it up to your liking.
