Spray Button Fails Around 2 Years

Buttons on this sprayer for my 172 Waterfall faucet fail under 2 years with less than average use. First time, spring broke. Now the replacement's button is jamming 'on' and we have to fool around to get the water back to the faucet. The original sprayer lasted over 20 years. So some thing is wrong with this design. It is also a shame that Delta doesn't have the option to just send the spray handle alone versus with the hose each time. I now have a collection of unused hoses.
