Perfect Combination
I wanted a tool which had scissors and corkscrew but also a file and the ability to hold toothpick, tweezers and pen but not be too large to prevent from carrying in the pocket. The Mountaineer fits the bill perfectly. Great functionality and portability.

Great EDC knife
I purchased the Mountaineer while on a cruise to St. Thomas in 2012. I have many SA knives, but this is a very versatile knife. I use this as my back up/ multi use knife to a Microtech Navy Seal Scarab. It’s much less tactical looking while in public. This knife has been a great tool, I would recommend this knife to any public service professional, handyman, or Boy Scout. Great Knife.

Bought as a replacement
I recently ordered a new Mountaineer to replace one I had lost just over a year ago. Yes, I could have bought a less expensive knife but, I wanted one like the one I had lost as I found uses for most of the tools included in this model. The reason I give 4 stars rather than 5 is that the toothpick seems less durable than my old one and, the bottle-opener is a bit harder to open than the other tools. Perhaps these minor things are not worth a whole star but, you cannot give a rating involving fractions.
