Well made socks but way too tight!!

These socks are super soft and well made, but they are extremely tight on my 6 year old boys' calves. So tight that they are difficult to get on and leave dents on their skin!! My boys wear a size 12 shoe so I bought the 9-2 size sock. I have no idea how these would for up to a size 2!
