Our StewMac Razor Files are super sharp and super efficient! Imagine putting hundreds of little razor-sharp planes to work while you're shaping an instrument neck.
They're the sharpest fine-cut woodworking files we've ever used. They cut quickly and aggressively, but leave the wood surprisingly smooth. You'll discover they're real time-savers for shaping solidbodies, custom jigs and clamping cauls too.
A new manufacturing process is the key to Razor File efficiency. Rows of semi-circular plane-like teeth are chemically etched to extreme sharpness, and diagonal grooves are milled at strategic intervals to minimize clogging. Early samples of these files were quickly snapped up by our R&D guys for testing in their own shops, and they immediately loved them.
Features include:
- Tapered files offer a bit more versatility. Use them when shaping a volute on an acoustic guitar neck, blending in curves, or working on tricky spots like the horn of a solidbody guitar.
- This curved file cuts on the outward face, and is smooth on the back side (and also has "safe" smooth sides).
- Includes easy-grip contoured handle for safe, comfortable use. Threads inside the handle grip the file tang securely.
