One of the best Police drama's ever

Ordered the series on Sat. night and it arrived the following Friday. So the delivery time wasn't that bad. The show itself is one of the best I have ever seen on TV. But I haven't been able to watch it on TV anymore, because not many, if any at all, channels are airing it. So I paid the $86 or w/e it cost w/ S&H. I thought the price was a little high, but it's still cheaper than Best Buy and Amazon, so I went for it. The Wire is only like $20 for all 5 seasons, so I assumed the price on this would only be about double. That is the only reason I rated the 'Value' at 4. It comes with 35 DVDs and 122 episodes. It also includes the 3 crossover episodes with Law & Order and the Homicide movie that concluded the series. They really don't make TV series like Homicide or The Wire #David Simon involded in both# anymore, so this will certainly be a keepsake for me. If you enjoy "fake" cop stories where they're shooting criminals and going on high speed car chases every episode this might not be for you. But if you love drama, depth, great characters, great stories and awesome writing, you'll really love this. You can tell I've already viewed the whole series, so even though I've only "owned" it for a week, I can still recommend it to everyone.

A GREAT SHOW WITH A CAST TO MATCH!!!!!

ACROSS THE BOARD, A FANTASTIC SHOW.LIKE A FINE CHEF AT AN EXCELLENT RESTARAUNT; ALWAYS LEAVE THEM WANTING MORE. THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT BARRY LEVINSON AND THE CREATORS OF HOMOCIDE "LIFE ON THE STREET" DID. THEY ENDED THE SERIES,LEAVING THEIR AUDIENCE WANTING AT LEAST ANOTHER 3 TO 4 SEASONS MORE.THIS IS A PERFECT MAN SHOW,KEEPING DEEP SEATED ANGER,AND REVENGE JUST WHERE IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE;UNDER YOUR HAT.WETHER IT WAS MUNCH,OR THE "BIG MAN" BOLANDER,THE ULTRA COOL, MELDRICK LEWIS,WITH THAT FANTASTIC LEATHER "PORK-PIE" HAT,THE SHOW ALWAYS HAD THE BEST TRUE-TO-LIFE DIALOGUE THAT KEPT THE PRESSURE COOKER FROM THE EDGE OF EXPLODING.THE GREATEST INTENSITY OF ALL,WAS OF COURSE THE UNRIVELED FRANK PEMBLETON.EDUCATED BY JESUIT MONKS IN A MONASTERY,RESCUED FROM A POTENTIAL LIFE OF CRIME HIMSELF,THIS MANS KEEN SHARPNESS AND BROAD MINDED INTELLIGENCE WAS IMMEASUREABLE TO THE POINT OF BEAUTY."PUT HIM IN THE BOX WITH FRANK" AND "G" KNEW THEY BAGGED ANOTHER ONE. JUST TRY TO PUT TOGETHER THIS CAST AGAIN.THE COST WOULD BE BACK BREAKING.

Wow, what a great deal and an awesome series A+

Only drawback is not many extras but what an awesome deal and to have all seven seasons for under $80. Great Value
