This thermal viscous fan clutch is a direct OEM replacement for 1996-2005 Chevrolet Tracker, Vitara, Grand Vitara equipped with 1.6L/2.0L I4/2.5L V6 engines. The fan clutch mounts between the water pump pulley and the engine cooling fan blade, controlling fan engagement based on engine compartment temperature. The thermal viscous clutch uses temperature-sensitive bi-metallic coil and silicone fluid to progressively engage the cooling fan when engine temperatures rise, then disengage at lower temperatures to reduce parasitic drag and improve fuel economy.
