When the Protection of the Law No Longer Applies Defence solicitor Martin Turner is found stabbed to death in his office. Contrary to expectations, he wasn't burning the midnight oil, building an iron-clad defence for one of his many clients, but sleeping off a night on the booze.
DI Angus Henderson and his team investigate the dead lawyer's circle of family and friends, but come up with nothing. They have no alternative but to shake down Turner's extensive list of clients: rapists, thieves and murderers.
When the perpetrator, desperate to cover his tracks, makes a wrong move, Henderson and the team are on to him. This leaves the DI facing a resourceful and intelligent individual who will do anything to escape justice.
