Great, but not her best

This book is a good vampire romance, with a strong female lead and a male lead who is not an arrogant jerk - as a farmer he is more down to earth than previous characters. I did not really learn as much about the characters as I normally do in the books, other than what happened to them - not so much about their personality. It has an interesting mystery with an unexpected end. However, I did not find this as good as her other books. The characters were just not as lovable, and it just was not as exciting. I still did not put it down until I finished, but I did not sit back at the end and think 'wow that was awesome' as I did with many of her other books. I look forward to the next one coming out still though.
