Too bright

I had bought the red bulbs for mood lighting. The color is pretty but it's EXTREMELY BRIGHT for a room. And it's not like a bright color it's like bright as in TOO light. You can tell the bulb was painted. I have a headache and my eyes hurt. All i did was turn it on to see what it looked like. If you're gonna get these.....use them outdoors. I bought the red ones, but I'd assume every color would have the same effect.
