Houston, we have a winner!

One of the great real life dramas. Three astronauts are shot off on a "routine" flight to the moon, but an explosion in space makes it doubtful they'll ever return. The courage, dedication, and teamwork brought to bear to save their lives is both suspenseful and inspiring. Transfer quality (especially on the Blu-Ray version) is excellent, and director Ron Howard's moviemaking innovations (like filming some scenes in a truly "weightless" environment) add to the experience. It's on my personal list of the 100 best movies of all time. The disc also includes a load of worthwhile extras. Highly recommended.

Truly stunning …

… visual and audio on this BluRay are just out of this world (no pun intended)! This is a must-do-upgrade if you already have Apollo 13! If you don't then by all means save yourself the purchase of a DVD and go straight to this Bluray version. On a 1030p flatscreen and DTS surround, you will be riveted, period!
