sturdy and better quality than others out there

This was packed very well. There were no damaged pieces. It is very sturdy. The panel in the back could not be screwed into some of the pieces because a couple of the holes were missing from said pieces, but it looks fine regardless. For those that are curious about the top shelve clearance 4 1/8" so I could fit my bigger shoes on the second shelf, which is around 7 1/8". Perfect for a small hallway like mine.

I was able to do this myself and I am not a skilled person with tools or building things. The instructions were easy to follow, the parts matched, and the end product is attractive and nice. I picked the black and then, once I finished it, I ordered cloth black "boxes" that slip in the slots where you would add shoes or boots. I like it more than just a shoe bench, so I am using it as a storage area (in the black cloth boxes I bought for it) for books, magazines, crafts I am working on...and it is perfect.
