I almost didn't order because shipping was going to take longer than other beds online, but it actually came in within a week! One box was beat up so I quickly panicked and started to make sure everything was in good condition and it was. I ordered the gray and it's a nice dark and soft material. The feet that support the middle are more under the bed so you don't smash your toes (like other reviews of other beds I read). The slates that go across are metal beams so there's a lot of support there. I heard a lot of complained about beds with wood slates breaking so this was a good surprise. I like the frame because my lil ones can step on it to get on top the bed easier. The whole bed is put together with an Allen wrench. It only took about 30 minutes. One sheet of instructions with pictures makes it pretty easy to assemble alone. The bed's low to the floor, but I opted for the 12 inch slumber mattress. I wanted a thicker mattress in case you could feel the bars that go across (mentioned in reviews of other beds). Looking at it now, the 8 or 10 inch mattress would have been fine as well. For an adult I would just order a thicker mattress because it makes the bed sit higher. I'm 5'10 and I can sit perfectly with my feet on the ground with the 12 in mattress. I could have ordered the 8 inch mattress and it would have probably been better for my toddlers. I am so happy with this purchase! A lot of similar beds are going for 2-4x the cost and this one is very well designed and made. Couldn't be happier! We put the beds side by side for now because we need to make some extra room and didn't plan on them coming in so early!
