KOHEEL Adjustable Mouth Guard for Nighttime Grinding Teeth, Comfort Night Dental Guard 2 Count

I suffer from pretty severe night grinding to the point that I recently cracked two teeth. When that happened, I required root canals and crowns. My expensive hard plastic night guard no longer fit, and I was in the process of getting a new custom form fitted acrylic one. But in the mean time, I needed something to protect my teeth. I knew that the guards that go in hot water and then you fit to your teeth wouldn't work for me because I just end up chewing on those like gum throughout the night. I tried a couple of different brands similar to this one, with the pads that go on the molars and the cord connecting the two pads. Neither of those brands worked for me because either they were too small or the pads would get out of place during the night. Then I found these that have the little rubbery hook that goes on the inside of your lower teeth to keep the pads in place, and voila, they worked perfectly. I have even considered just continuing to use these rather than paying for an expensive custom acrylic guard. (I probably will have to get the acrylic guard because my grinding is that sever, but these Koheel devices will be great for when I travel or as a backup). Compared to the similar products on the market, not only are these better because they stay in place better during the night, but they also are less expensive. One tip I do have is for fitting them properly. The "cord" that goes between the two pads is adjustable in length. What I would recommend when using this for the first time is adjusting that cord to the maximum length and then putting the pads on your lower teeth about 20 mins before you go to bed. The cord will stick out of your mouth while you are doing this, but that's ok. Within about 20 minutes, the pads will naturally settle to where they fit best and are most secure on your lower teeth. When you find the most comfortable position for those pads, then adjust the cord to the length where it goes across the front of your lower front teeth and doesn't stick out of your mouth. That is how I kind of accidentally got the right length adjusted. I have not had to adjust it since, and I have been wearing these for over two weeks now with no issues.

I didn't need this at night for grinding my teeth. I have developed an issue called TD, you involuntarily bite your inner cheeck and on the inside of my lips. This happens any time of day, not just at bedtime. it comes in a pack of two but I only need one at a time. the best part is that it works and you never have to worry about what size to order as they are adjustable. there is medication out there, but until you get on it, this is the best option.
