Flex nibs are for ardent calligraphy users!
We offer a choice of a Zebra g flex nib, Phosbronze flex and size 5.5 and size 6 stainless steel Ultraflex nib with different tip sizes. The Zebra G and Phosbronze nibs are fitted with a custom triple-fissure ebonite feed. The #5.5 and #6 Ultraflex are fitted with single or double fissure ebonite feeds. Ebonite feeds help keep up with the added ink demands of calligraphy.
The Osprey Zebra G Fountain pen is a very popular product among the artist community! The Tachikawa Zebra G titanium nib is fitted with a custom multi-fissure ebonite feed that provides a steady flow of ink to the nib, supported by a wide mouthed converter, that helps keep up with the ink demands of the nib, for flex writing styles. This complete assembly consisting of the thread-able ‘nib-feed-converter’ system with an outer grip section is what we call as a Flexpert assembly and is available for purchase as spares.
• Inspired by vintage flat top pens of yesteryear, the Milano is machined from beautiful Acrylic and Ebonite material. Ebonite is a natural hard rubber, expect to see slight variation from the pictures (no two pens are alike!).
• Get the flexibility of a Zebra G titanium nib coupled with copious supply of ink, for uninterrupted writing or sketching
• Milano is best suited for folks who prefer a more heavy/ full feel when writing with a pen
• Do not use India Inks or highly pigmented inks, or it will clog the feed. Use bottled fountain pen friendly inks that are Ph neutral in composition
• Zebra G titanium nibs, feeds and converters are available as spares. Replacement/ maintenance is easy using the tools we provide
• International cartridge or generic international converters do not work with the Zebra G, Phosbronze and Ultraflex series of pens, with the exception of K6 Schmidt converter. We highly recommend adding a spare wide mouthed Osprey converter with the rest of your order, especially if it’s an international order.
*If you choose a Zebra G or a Phosbronze nib, your order will also include: 1) An improvised nib block kit that helps in easy disassembly and assembly of the flex nib & feed, to clean when the pen gets clogged over time/use, along with ‘how-to’ instructions. 2) A 2ml sample of Noodler's Black ink, to test the unit for performance upon arrival.
