[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I honestly wasn't entirely sure what a coverlet was but when I saw this, it reminded me of the type of blankets my grandma used to use. She had always used several thinner blankets on the beds instead of a comforter and I needed something lighter for summer, so I figured I'd give this a try. On its own, it's probably too light. Think the weight of a nice tablecloth. Thicker than a sheet but not adding a lot of warmth. With the air on I found it to be too thin alone, but with a thin fleece blanket under it, it's perfect. Now I know why my grandma always had more than one blanket on the bed with these.

I washed it after taking out of package and had no issues with shrinking or shredding. It is so soft and will look great on anyones bed. This is a classic but up to date look. I love it is lightweight and very comfortable. Durable, and very good quality material. Overall a great bedding set.
