Good But Better With The Pump Kit!

"The CAMPLUX 2.64 GPM 68,000 BTU Outdoor Portable Propane Tankless Water Heater is designed for outdoor use, providing instant hot water for various applications like camping, RVs, and outdoor showers." ---This unit does not include a pump (3.3 GPM Water Pump Kit recommended) so you will need to either hook it up to a hose or other water source to use it and it needs two D batteries for power and propane for your gas source. If you really want to have control of the water temperature and pressure, you will want to get a pump to regulate it because the water will be less consistent and need a lot more altering as you shower or use it without one. It's worth the extra to get one or buy the other unit that includes the kit. It will be safer from burns and produce better pressure consistency. For a truly portable option, I have seen a few great ideas. One person hooked this up to a dolly so it could be easily moved about and still be higher up and accessible for showering and washing things while traveling or camping while they also used a pump and a 5gallon water jug for like Gatorade or a 3-5 gallon jug for water cooler for the water source. Another person set up a water jug and secured a pump in their rig with a longer line for outside use with their vehicle to accommodate water use with the van doors opened and mounting the system on the inner door. So, you just park and swing the back doors open and start the system up to use! Pretty creative! The back of the unit has many metal holes in it that can cut you or snag most anything snagable, so be careful when moving it and mounting it. Maybe wear gloves and long sleeves? I have included a photo for reference. The most important thing I can tell you is that the water can get VERY hot without the pump to regulate it and it will not give consistent pressure. You know how the first shot of hose water during summer will burn you or your animals or kids? Well, this will do the same if you are not cautious enough about the adjusting while in use without a pump. That can be annoying to be worrying about while trying to shower... just sayin' take note. Also, if you are going to be above 2000ft elevation this unit will lose about 10% productivity with every 1000ft you add above 2000. And ALWAYS ALWAYS pay attention to gas leaks and carbon dioxide by testing it regularly with soapy water and using a carbon dioxide detector if your unit is in an enclosed area. Pretty nifty option for an alternate hot water source.
