Not for use in enclosed fixtures!

Very bright and I guess it would have been great for use in one of my lamps. However, my problem is not so much in regards to the bulb itself but more so with the information provided on the package. Although they do exist it is pretty difficult to find a bulb that is a LED and suitable for use in a totally enclosed fixture. Well I came across these after searching through a million and half bulbs only to find every single box say “not for use in totally enclosed fixtures”. These bulbs only listed that they were not designed for use in emergency exit fixtures and lights as well as in direct exposure to water. Well to my disappointment the bulb itself states not for use in totally enclosed fixtures, ugh! I’m a little frustrated with the time spent searching for and buying these bulbs only to end up returning them to start the process all over again! I am also questioning why every other bulb company finds it important enough to include this information on the packaging however, philips doesn’t feel the consumer needs to be aware of this. It is from my understanding that the bulbs internal components are sensitive to the increased temperatures created within an enclosed fixture such as the “boob lights” in my closet, hall and laundry rooms. I can’t help but to think that the company wants consumers to unintentionally neglect the proper use of the bulb in order to shorten the lifespan while also voiding the warranty resulting in a potentially higher demand for the product. I will probably never know the answer to that however, if anyone is considering buying these bulbs please know that they can not be used in enclosed fixtures!
