Used it for years in a primary server

Used it for years in a primary server, never a problem, easy as pie to setup. VERY fast way to Mirror a pair of small primary drives and make your CPU less likely to DROP DEAD on you from Hard drive failure....Just bought another one for a backup server

Works well, but tricky to set up in Windows 7

I installed his card in my AMD quad core Windows 7 Ultimate (64bit) system using three 1TB SATA drives plugged into the card. The card was recognized using the drivers that came with the card and I could enter the card BIOS. However, when I tried to get Windows 7 to "see" the RAID 0 array 1 set up, no array was seen. I had to go to the Silicon Image website (http://www.siliconimage.com/products/product.aspx?id=28) and download & install the latest BIOS (Version 5.4.0.3) and drivers (Version 1.5.20.3) for the 3114 chip, which is on this Starteck card. The card was then seen by Windows 7 (64bit) and now works well. I did notice, also that in order to set up RAID 5, you must use four drives. It wont set RAID 5 on three drives. So overall, the card does work well in Windows 7 64 bit, it just takes some extra effort to download and install the latest BIOS and drivers.
