GE Electric Oven Igniter This particular electric oven igniter has excellent quality for the amount of money charged. I installed the igniter on my sister's oven. Installation took approximately 20 or 25 minutes. Caution....do not remove the igniter from the metal grate cover. The igniter element is very fragile. I made this mistake and had order a new igniter.

My oven igniter in my magic chef oven would glow red but the oven gas burner wouldn't light. I replaced the igniter with this one and now the oven gas burner lights up every time I turn on the oven. I thought the gas valve was bad, but it was just the igniter. Even though the old igniter would glow it wasn't sending the correct signal to open the gas valve
