StarTech.com DVI-D Digital video splitter cable in black color enables you to connect two DVI-D monitors with a single DVI-D output port of the video source. The 1' cable is made of flexible as well as fire retardant PVC to ensure maximum bending and to prevent any fatal fire accident. Aluminum-mylar foil with braid shielding on 28 AWG conductors secures data from electromagnetic and radio frequency interference. One DVI-D male connector at one end and two DVI-D female connectors at the other end offer reliable connection. Molded design of the connectors prevents damages such as wear and tear during installation. Gold-plated straight connectors prevent signal loss due to oxidation or corrosion. Suitable for LCD TV, LCD Projectors, Plasma TV, HDTV and DVD Player and set-top box.

Causes loss of strength and integrity
I bought this item with hopes of splitting a video signal from my dual monitor capable video card. This will not split the image signal, only duplicates it. Plus the signal deteriorates to about the lowest settings possible. Again - This is not a signal splitter, but a signal duplicator. It may be bidirectional, but is a single carrier. You will not be able to span images on your monitors, only duplicate them, and they'll be throttled back to about 800 x 600. This product falls way short of expectations and usefulness.
