Culligan Ice Maker & Refridgerator Replacement Filter - Basic

My new fridge didn't come with a filter, and I thought since it was new, for best icemaker life, and cleaner ice, I should add a filter. I was pleasantly surprised to see Wal Mart had this item for a good price, so I ordered it. Installation was easy. I installed it on the wall behind the fridge. For a correct installation you need to add a TEE on the outlet side of your line coming from the filter, and a valve where you can purge the filter of charcoal and other filter particulates when you change the filter, or when installing the system new. The TEE and valve also lets you bleed off the pressure when changing the filter cartridge. It was a breeze to install the extra fitting and valve, but those parts are NOT included with the filter kit. The instructions that come with the kit show how to install the TEE and valve on the line. I purged the filter until clear, (it was a bit cloudy for about 3 gallons of purge) and dumped the first days ice that was made. Our ice is clean, and tastes better than it did before. I am impressed with my purchase, and would recommend to others. I like that there are several levels of filtration cartridges available. I am going to go with level 3 when time to replace just to see if there is a difference. Certainly can't hurt to over filter the water. Item came packaged properly for safe transit and with standard shipping I was given a tracking number. Item came 3 days before originally promised when ordering.
