Sasha Silver is in NYC for fall break staying with her "frenemy", Heather Fox, in her Park Avenue Penthouse. Small-town Sasha is marveled by Heather's penthouse New York itself. But Heather's parents are cold-hearted and each pushes their daughter towards their own expectations, not hers. A certain dinner with the Foxes makes Sasha feel a bit uneasy, or as she calls it "Trapped in the Fox Den."
Heather gives Sasha the full tour of her beloved New York City. Everything from a shopping trip to Barney's, to Radio City Music Hall. Sasha also gets to visit Dylan's Candy Bar, The Shake Shack, which is a bit like a Culver's if you've been to one, and most of the touristy spots, such as The Flatiron Building. The girls bond over mani/pedis, riding, and just having fun. One night, they go to a famous restaurant called "Butter", where Sasha sees her roomate, Paige Parker, whom she was supposed to stay with during fall break, but a last-minute fight at the Homecoming dance results in a change of plans. She handles the situation wrong by telling Paige to just leave them alone.
The book ends with Sasha discovering Heather emailing-on Sasha's email-the last person she ever wanted to see again. Now she must decide whether or not she wants to go along with Heather's set-up-meet and say SHE wrote them or if she wants to say that Heather had written them and that everything Heather said was true. A very good book, I would recommend this to any Canterwood/Horse/Book Lover! :)
