EXCELLENT!

this is not your run of the mill horror movie. i'd barely even call it a horror movie. although there are "zombies", they're not really flesheaters right off the bat, but more like confused souls hosting an unknown virus. the infection gets worse as time goes on without finding a new host and thats when they get violent towards the uninfected. although how the virus got started isnt clarified, the virus is neurological and infects the brain's understanding of certain infected words within the english language. sounds kinda silly, but its actually quite creepy as the main group of people in the film are a radio crew trapped in their station receiving emergency calls from outsiders trying to survive calling in panicing trying to find some form of rescue, and these calls in which you don't see what is happening is actually the most scary part cause you have to visualize for yourself. as things get worse and more information about the virus is discovered, can they use the radio to help others, or to only make things worse? this movie was the most original horror/sci fi/suspense movie i've seen in years and one of the best. check it out.

McHattie is astonishingly good

Original take on zombies... a virus spread through language and understanding language. If that sounds weird, go with it. Stephen McHattie as an alcoholic but charismatic radio DJ doing a live broadcast at the epicentre of the literal insanity is just amazing. For me the story kinda tailed off in the third act hence 4/5. The first two acts are pretty much a masterpiece!
