Tricky, Tricky

Many of these puzzles make you think outside the box. The answers that seem obvious sometimes do not fit, so you need to rethink your answer. Once you solve one of the longer answers, you should get an idea of what to do to solve the other puzzles, like add or delete a letter from the expected answer, i.e., sad becomes shad or cold becomes cod. Lots of fun and hard thinking are in store for anyone purchasing this book!

Puzzle book as expected

I work crosswords all the time and was trying to find one like one I had finished. This one was as advertised.

Great

I hate easy crosswords; I want to actually think, not just fill in the obvious answer. These puzzles are great for getting the mind going, looking beyond what might be the obvious answer for the RIGHT answer. I complete one a day (or almost -- there's usually one answer or small section that I just can't figure out). Sometimes "punny" and often challenging, with many answers I wouldn't know at all without filling in the surrounding squares to get a glimmer of what the answer might be. These puzzles cover a gamut of knowledge from the past and current times, and a broad spectrum of subjects as well. I couldn't have done these while in high school or college. Just too much stuff I didn't know then. Also, not as many foreign language references as, say, the NY Times Sunday puzzles, which are also great, but I don't speak French, Italian or Spanish, so knock it off with the "Guido's basement" type of clue/answer.
