The width at the bottom of the cushion in barely 3 inches. The pillow never fluffed on its own after being taken out of the shrinkwrap. Lukily. I have a commercial clothes steamer I was able to use to fluff the foam insert and remove the heavy wrinkles. I should have spent more money to get a better quality item.
