My son has become increasingly involved in various band activities this past year. His main instrument is trombone but he plays multiple instruments and recent joined steel band. I bought this set for him to be able to practice percussion. I have a small house and not much interest in having a large, loud drum set taking up space and disturbing people when he plays. This set is nicely sized for a small space and comes with headphones so he can practice quietly. I hooked up a speaker to it as well that allows him to occasionally pound out a tune louder. The nice thing is being able to control the volume so the whole house doesn't have to hear. The impact of the sticks on the drums does not make much sound to bother others or take away from the digital tone. They have a great response, just like hitting a real drum. He has the option of different tones as well. In addition to the 4 drum pads and 3 cymbals, there are also 2 pedal effects for a total of 9 sounds. I don't know the name of them all but he is happy with all he is able to do with the set. Overall, this has been a good investment for him to develop his skills.

I really like Pyle brand so when hubby said he wanted to try drums this was a no brainer and got this for him to try. I love that it came with headphones, drumsticks, and a stool so there was nothing extra I needed to buy him. The headphones part is huge because we are also at home with a newborn and he can jam out on the drums and the rest of us at home don't have to hear it! Haha! The sound quality is quite good for the price and assembly was simple. Had it setup in about 20 minutes and it's easy to move around the house. If you're looking for a good drum set for a good price definitely give this one a try!!! Highly recommend!
