The knob on the dryer timer is made of plastic - not a problem had it been engineered to take the stress of changing the settings on the dryer like its supposed to. However, as cheaply made as the knob is, it lasted a year. The other problem I am experiencing is the plastic tabs on the front control panel that hold the on/off switch have broken off making it impossible to turn the dryer on. I have had to jury rig the switch by running the wiring outside of the control panel with the switch, where I have to manually hold the switch body while turning the knob - I have covered the connections with electrical tape, but this is a very dangerous solution to the problem. Rather than spend 134.00 plus freight for a new front panel which will more than likely do the same thing, I'll do my research and find a better dryer. Shame because it does an excellent job drying clothes. On top of everything else, I will more than likely have to order a new dryer timer switch because the know is out of stock - by the time it shows up, the spindle on the switch will more than likely be so chewed up from the pliers we are using to change the settings that it more than likely will not fit. Not real happy with this.
