Slant Height is the distance from the top ring to the bottom ring measured in a straight line. Typically, your lamps harp should be 0.5" to 1" shorter than the vertical height of the lampshade (measured from the top ring straight down), though this may vary depending on the design of the shade and the design of the lamp.
