It was smaller than pictured but that's ok takes up less room. No instructions came as to how to install hard drive but was relatively easy don't remove the wrong screws or loose the ones that come in a separate pack. It doesn't have a 9-pin port for older monitors w/o HDMI. As far as operation it does all that i want it to do, and very nice for the price.

This is good for anyone who already has cameras and wiring set up but only needs a replacement for their DVR. I am satisfied with the ease of programming, picture quality,and it is easy to review video. I do wish that it had a remote control but it is easy to plug in a wireless mouse and it will do everything that a remote does.
