Damaged Item

The shelf I received would be such a nice piece if it hadn't arrived with several pieces of its wood damaged. The one end board even had what looked like a screw hole drilled in it. I understand natural imperfections in some types of wood, but the attached pictures clearly show that the damaged parts are not natural imperfections, and the item cost way too much to arrive in such condition. The item took 2 weeks to arrive and school starts in less than a week, so I'm sure the whole process to fix this situation will be a nightmare.
