I have a California King mattress and this is exactly what I was looking for and it is exactly what I expected. It looks and feels like a quality product. It is a woven polyester fabric material, not a plastic encasement. I washed it before using and it held up nicely though washing snd drying. It was easy for two adults to slide on and it fits perfectly. I think adding an additional mattress pad will definitely make the mattress more comfortable. I haven't ordered a new one yet, but I will be adding a thick padded mattress pad over this new encasement.
